In Play Game Day
What is it?
A relaxed softball event where connection comes first.
In Play Game Day is a structured, low-pressure way to play softball, meet people and be part of a team for the day.
Sign up solo or with friends and we’ll place you on a team. You’ll play two casual 45-minute games, with a BBQ lunch and time between games to rest, talk and hang out.
It’s designed for adults who want to get outside, play, and spend time with other people without the intensity of a competitive league.
Some softball experience recommended.
Why it works
Softball is laid back, but it still brings people together around a shared activity.
When you’re playing on the same team, conversation happens naturally without needing to force it.
You don’t need to be the fastest or strongest player on the field. If you know the basics and can play recreationally, you’ll fit right in.
There’s enough structure to give everyone something to do, without making the day feel overly competitive.

FAQs
Is this a league?
No. In Play Game Day is a one-day event. There’s no season or weekly commitment.
Do I need experience?
Some experience is recommended. You should know the basic rules of softball and be able to swing a bat, catch and throw.
You don’t need to be especially skilled or fast. If you’re brand new to softball, our Starter Series is the better place to start.
Can I come alone?
Yes. Many people do. We create the teams, so you don’t need to bring one with you.
Is it competitive?
Scores are kept, and the top teams face off in a final, but the games are recreational and the atmosphere stays friendly.
How does pitching work?
We use three-pitch rules, with players pitching to their own team. It keeps the game moving and gives everyone a better chance to hit.
Do I need to bring equipment?
Bats and balls are provided. Bring your own glove if you have one. (If you also provide loaner gloves, say that here.)
What should I wear?
Comfortable clothes you can move in and running shoes or appropriate athletic footwear.
Can I take a break during a game?
Yes. You don’t have to play every inning and can sit out when you need a break.
