It’s in the Cards
We’re surrounded by people, yet we go days without talking to anyone.
It’s not that we don’t enjoy conversation. We just don’t want to bother someone, misread the moment, or feel awkward for trying.
So we stick to ourselves, and we stay in our bubble.
That’s what It’s in the Cards changes.
You walk in, pick up a random envelope, and instantly have a built-in reason to talk to anyone in the room. And they have a reason to talk to you too.
No one has to invent an opener, because the game gives you one.
That’s what makes the night feel easier.
How the night works
When you arrive, you pick up an envelope. Inside is a random card tied to a local cafe, restaurant, shop, or experience.
As you move around the room, you can trade your card with anyone. The goal is to end the night holding a card you’d actually use.
Near the end of the event, names are drawn. If yours is chosen, you win a real gift card to the place you’re holding!
Why this feels different
Everyone has something in their hand, and everyone is curious what others have.
That curiosity makes it easy to walk up and ask a question without it feeling random.
You’re not interrupting anyone, and you don’t have to put on a performance. You’re just trading. And getting to know each other in the process.
That small shift changes the entire energy of the room.
