Frequently asked questions.
1. What is Head Out Toronto?
Head Out Toronto organizes fun, social softball events in Toronto that support meaningful causes. Our goal is to bring people together to connect, get active, and give back to the community.
2. When and where is the next tournament or game?
Our next event is on Sunday, August 31st, 2025, at Coronation Park in Toronto, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
3. Do I need any prior experience to join?
Not at all! We offer two options:
👉 Starter Series – perfect for complete beginners. We’ll guide you through the basics and help you ease into the game.
👉 Rec Tournament – for those who’ve played before and want a few friendly games. It’s still very casual and welcoming.
No matter your level, you’ll be placed on a balanced team and supported throughout the day.
4. How do I register for an event?
Just head to our Registration Page to sign up! It’s quick and easy.
5. Can I come by myself?
Yes! Many participants sign up solo. We’ll place you on a team with a mix of experience levels so you can meet new people and feel right at home.
6. Can I sign up with friends or a group?
You can register with up to 3 other people to be placed on the same team. Groups of 5 or more will be split across teams to keep things fair and social.
7. What if I’ve never played sports before?
No worries at all. Our Starter Series is designed for people who are totally new to softball, or even team sports in general. We’ll walk you through everything and make sure you’re comfortable.
8. What should I wear and bring?
Wear comfortable athletic clothes and running shoes. Bring a water bottle, sunscreen, and a softball glove if you have one. Don’t worry if you don’t, we’ve got extras you can borrow.
9. Do I need to bring a glove or equipment?
Nope! We provide gloves and bats to borrow. Just show up and we’ll make sure you're geared up.
10. What happens if it rains?
We play rain or shine unless it becomes unsafe. If weather forces us to cancel, we’ll do our best to reschedule or offer partial refunds.
11. Can I just come to hang out and watch?
Absolutely. Spectators are welcome and it’s a great way to enjoy the vibe, even if you're not playing.
12. Is this a competitive tournament?
Nope. These are rec-style games focused on fun and connection. We'll keep score, but it’s not serious competition.
13. Which charity will the proceeds benefit?
Every event supports meaningful causes. 100% of net proceeds go to our charity partners, helping animals, mental health, and other important community initiatives. Our charity partners include Free Korean Dogs, Toronto Cat Rescue, and Hard Feelings.
